The Nortel Norstar Key System is now effectively positioned to address the hospitality marketplace. Until now, the unavailability of Message Waiting Indication, Wake-Up Calls, and Set Locking/Unlocking has prevented the installation of this outstanding phone platform in the hospitality market. Tools CTI Pack hospitality solutions provides these enhanced solutions specific for hoteliers who want to use the Nortel Norstar phone system in their establishments.

Message Waiting Indication

Hotel/Motel owners normally provide their guest with messaging services. Often hotel guests receive calls when they are either unavailable or away from their room. The front desk staff is required to take a message. When guests return to their rooms a flashing red light on their telephone set normally indicates they have messages. With our Tools CTI Pack this feature is now available on the Nortel Meridian Norstar telephone system.

Analog

The Nortel Norstar/BCM must be equipped with one CTA device, an ASM (Analog Station Module) with MWI and analog telephone sets with a message waiting indicator. Front desk staff can turn a guest telephone's MWI light on/off from either their front desk computer of by dialing the assigned MWI feature code.

Guests with digital Nortel telephone sets in their rooms receive message-waiting indication and wake up calls on their LCD display. A repetitive beep alerts the guest of the incoming message.

Wake-Up Calls

Wake-up calls are a required guest service for all hotel/motel environments. Tools CTI Pack enhances the phone system by providing an easy to use guest wake-call service that is PC-based. The front desk staff can use the wake-up call module to program a guest wake-up call.

Set Locking/Unlocking

Often Hotel/Motels guests pay with cash. Cash guests that do not provide a telephone deposit will need to be prevented from making billable calls. However, the guest checking into this room tomorrow has reserved the room with a credit card and needs to be able to make billable calls. The hotel/motel front desk staff must be able to restrict telephone access to specific guests when they check into their room. With our Tools CTI Pack, this feature is now available on the Meridian Norstar telephone system.

The hotel/motel can also use this feature to lock the telephone set after the guest checks out. This prevents unauthorized calling by hotel staff (i.e. maids, night staff, etc.) from unoccupied rooms.

Maid Status

This is a powerful USER definable feature, which allows for the creation of up to 100 codes for "room is clean", "room needs extra attention", "electrical problem", "plumbing problem", "air conditioning problem", "heating problem", etc. A maid or maintenance person need only pick up the phone in the guest room and dial the code, which immediately informs the front desk about the status of the individual room.
